Eversince his verse on „i‘m the man“ on Gangstarr daily operation album Jeru The Damaja was a MC that we loved to listen too. Having english as my 3. language i loved how he brought knowledge and wisdom into rap and i would have to set the needle back on some rhymes many times untill i really understood the meaning. Actually some of his rhymes i am just understanding now, or deeper understanding them now. The Sun rises in the east was released in 1994 and it still sounds dope and inventive. We had allready met Jeru and used his Songs in our clips, and one time we where rapping together when i showed him our clip with his song „mental stamina“ with Afu Ra. When we started to work on this colaboration we where super excited and taken back to the mid nineties. We also pay homage to the iconic payday records logo, the lable where some of our favorite records where released.
